This steel wood stove fireplace insert has been removed from my hearth to make way for a new stove. The house was built in 1953, so presumably this stove dates roughly to that era.
This stove heats up fast and throws a ton of heat! On the coldest nights I was able to heat the house, a 920 square foot ranch. The drawback to this stove: it is not airtight, so it burns fairly fast.
The round damper vents (4) on the bi-fold doors can be closed to slow down the burn.
The doors open and it can be used as a fireplace (with a screen, of course).
Included with the stove:
Stovepipe and log grate
The side walls of this stove are tapered, as it was designed as an insert.
Dimensions:
Width at the front (where the doors are hinged): 24 1/4"
Width at the rear: 19 1/2"
Depth is 13 3/4". Height is 27 3/4"
Top plate: 29" wide at front, 21 3/4" wide at rear, 15" deep
Ash shelf on front: 35" wide, 10" deep
This would be a good stove/fireplace for a camp, garage or workshop.
On a full load it will burn for 4-5 hours and leave enough coals to start a new fire!!
Buyer will need to pick this up at my home on Cumberland Head. You will need to bring a friend to help load it as my back isn't stove friendly, LOL!!
